What is ADANECH?
ADANECH is a wellness program named after the founder’s mother, Adanech (አዳነች). In Amharic, 'Adanech' translates to 'she heals' and signifies 'goodness' and 'blessing.' This name carries deep meaning for Wintana, as it reflects not only the healing power of a mother but also the strength and renewal her mom found through lifestyle changes in her 70s. ADANECH symbolizes the transformative journey of healing, empowerment, and care, honoring both the personal and cultural essence of community well-being. This program is designed to help the Ethiopian and Eritrean community prevent and manage diabetes, while staying true to their traditional foods and ways of life.
